Muyeez – Location

Muyeez uses the record to acknowledge what his rise has made possible, approaching his changed circumstances with the chest-out confidence that runs through much of the project. The idea works naturally within an album concerned with how quickly his life and career have moved.

That confidence is matched by the broader sonic direction established with larrylanes, whose work across the album draws from Afrobeat, soul and electronic influences without tying Muyeez to one narrow formula.

“Location” lands differently when viewed against the singer’s short career timeline. Only a couple of years separate the teenager behind breakthrough single “Instagram” from an artist now documenting the lifestyle produced by that success.
